Welcome to Oulu!
Rotarians of the new district 1385 welcome you to Oulu, the oldest and largest city of northern Finland. Kierikki in Oulu was inhabited already in the Stone Age, 7000 years ago. Oulu is the largest city in Finland by area and in the northernmost parts of the city even reindeer are kept.
This former salmon and tar capital has evolved into a major high-tech centre, particularly for IT and wellness technologies. The inhabitants of Oulu – 200 000 altogether – are known for their love of biking, beaches and original festivals.
Our meeting venue is right in the centre, with easy walking to sights and shopping.
We wish you an exciting and useful institute!
